The LEGO Master Builder Academy is a series of specially designed LEGO sets that are intended to empower LEGO fans to design and build their own advanced LEGO models, using tips and techniques from LEGO Master Builders, the professionals who design all the LEGO sets sold around the world, and who create the giant LEGO models on display at LEGOLAND, LEGO stores, and LEGO events worldwide.

21st Century Kids LLC worked closely with LEGO to bring the Master Builder Academy to life as a series of engaging after-school programs and camps for kids. It’s an exclusive offering you won’t find elsewhere!

This is Course 1 of the MBA Adventure Designer series, designed and differentiated for new and continuing students in grades K-6. Children learn:

Story Building... Using LEGO bricks to create an adventure!

Modular Building... Connecting models to make even bigger adventures!

Every child works with and takes home their own specially themed, multi-model LEGO MBA set! These sets are no longer commercially available and are among the best LEGO has ever produced. Designer Handbooks are provided as part of the kit and contain a wealth of information from LEGO and the Master Builders in addition to building instructions.

Building instructions for special "Springboard Models" are provided in the Designer Handbook along with inspiration to create a new model that includes the springboard.

In addition to LEGO building, children learn how the LEGO Master Builders design LEGO models and sets and get to develop and practice these valuable design skills on their own.

The LEGO Master Builder Academy is an amazing and very limited opportunity for children to further their interest in LEGO and to learn tips and techniques from the LEGO Master Builders.

Video Game Builders combines the physical world with the virtual world to empower students to create amazing video games! Students brainstorm and work collaboratively to design their own game worlds and characters. Using special video game creation software, they convert their sketches and models into virtual worlds and characters! Their customized video game is then ready to play, improve, and conquer!

Group violin lessons for students in their 1st/2nd year (Beginners) and students who play in Suzuki Books 1-3 (Int/Adv). Both groups are team taught concurrently. Beginners will be introduced to basic fundamentals of string playing, rhythm games and learning fun songs by rote. Int/Adv students will focus on soloistic repertoire from the Suzuki books. Additionally, during the extended session, Suzuki students will learn to read music as well as the fundamentals of rhythm and counting beats. These skills will prepare them to play as an ensemble and be taught in an orchestral setting at the appropriate level of each participant. Recitals for all students are held in the winter and spring.

Tournament Chess

In Tournament Chess, children play chess to win! They explore and perfect the openings for White and Black, and learn valuable tactics through the lens of those openings. Puzzles are used to explain and reinforce the various tactics.

Emphasis is placed on attention to detail and commitment to practice. Students learn how to utilize chess notation, and are expected to notate their chess games to provide a reference that will help them develop and improve their game over time.

Tournament Chess is scheduled to be provided by a Master Instructor and is essential for students who aspire to participate on their school's academic chess team.
