Social interaction and collaboration are important parts of the AfterCare Plus experience. We recognize that the after-school setting provides a unique opportunity for friendships to develop and grow, and for children to learn about others in a diverse setting. As such, children are provided both structured and informal opportunities to interact with and learn from others on an ongoing basis.

Creative design projects and activities are an integral part of AfterCare Plus, and are designed to cover a range of interests. They are typically intended to be taken home after completion, to be shared with family and friends. We also support children who are using the creative arts to add a special touch to school projects and assignments, as many children enjoy personalizing their projects, and creativity can help make learning fun!

Children benefit from outdoor play and exercise time, especially after sitting indoors for the entire school day. With AfterCare Plus, our staff monitors outdoor play periods, while organizing outdoor activities that ensure all children have the opportunity to play and participate. When inclement weather or school events preclude the opportunity to play outside, children are encouraged to participate in indoor actvities promoting fun and fitness.

Our partnership with your child's school is truly focused on ensuring educational success for all AfterCare Plus participants. We take every child's education seriously, and we want to help children who are struggling, as well as those desiring to master advanced concepts. Homework help is available throughout the afternoon in a quiet, supported homework area. Our staff meets with children to help develop daily homework strategies, prioritizing homework while ensuring opportunity to participate in activities of interest. Parents may view their child's homework progress for the afternoon by logging in to their AfterCare Plus parent account.

Educational technology is an essential component of learning in the 21st century. Our staff has expertise in working with a variety of educational technologies. Children in our program are provided with opportunity to benefit from shared technology usage in the after-school setting, and guidance to use that technology to enhance their experience and develop new skills.

After a long school day, a short break and a quick snack are great ways to relax and recharge. Before starting their after-school activities, children are encouraged to take a few minutes to reenergize and enjoy a snack (snacks provided by the school, but may be brought from home).

While the majority of our popular after-school enrichment offerings are now included for free with AfterCare Plus, some of our more advanced (and resource intensive) 21st Century Kids programs are still only available a paid basis. However, your AfterCare Plus registration generally provides you discounts of 10% to 50% off our paid programs; a truly great deal!
